Hi all! Columbia Mountains Institute of Applied Ecology is hosting a conference on responsible recreation right here in Revelstoke on May 9-10. With our community full of avid recreationalists, I know this event will be of interest to many of you.
With an increasing number of people pursuing outdoor activities, there is growing recognition of the limited information, tools, and resources for managing and monitoring the impacts of these pressures. This conference will be an excellent opportunity for managers, business operators, recreation groups, and the interested public to share lessons learned that can inform our collective work to reduce impacts to wildlife and ecosystems.
For more information, see here: https://cmiae.org/event/responsible-recreation-pathways-practices-and-possibilities/
*Last day to register is this Monday, April 24th.
And have a peek at the community keynote event – all are welcome to this free event which will explore recreation through the lenses of climate change and reconciliation.
